Maryland Behavioral Health Integration in Pediatric Primary Care (B-HIPP)

B-HIPP is a free, state wide, child and adolescent mental health consultation service available to pediatric primary care providers to enable them to better serve children and youth who have or may be at risk of developing emotional or behavioral problems. The core of the program is a “warm line” linking primary care practitioners to child mental health experts who can provide targeted advice on diagnosis, treatment, and local resource and referral s. Additionally, B-HIPP offers continuing education to PCPs related to child and adolescent mental health, and places Master level social work interns into pediatric practices to provide support with brief interventions, case management, and resource and referral. B-HIPP is a collaboration between faculty and staff at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Johns Hopkins University, and Salisbury University. B-HIPP is Funded by MHA/DHMH and MSDE (though Race to the Top). B-HIPP can be reached at 1-855-MD-BHIPP, for questions about the program, or for a consultation.
